10 Tragic Movie Endings That Probably Had Awesome Silver Linings
6. Invasion Of The Body Snatchers
The Tragic Ending: In Philip Kaufmans gritty New Hollywood take on Jack Finneys science fiction novel The Body Snatchers, all does not end well. After some weird gelatinous alien from outer space merges with plants on Earth, it begins sneakily transforming the citizens of the globe into pod people, copies that for all intents and purposes look like homo sapiens, but that in reality are devoid of feeling or any of the emotional traits that make us recognisably human. The Silver Lining: Sure, every single person on Earth is going to be replaced by a disgusting, emotionless pod person, but lets look at the positives: people without emotion are never going to feel the existential pains that have caused Woody Allen and the rest of mankind to suffer for aeons. Who knows, maybe the new breed of human will stop warring and destroying the globe and actually get something done around here for a change.
