2. Tony Stark Sacrifices Himself For Peter Parker

Like Cap, it's hard to see past a noble sacrifice for Tony Stark at the end of Avengers 4. He's another character haunted by his past, whose decisions and past transgressions weigh particularly heavily on him. He's wracked by guilt (thanks to his family business' weapons dealing, the creation of Ultron and now the death of Peter Parker), suffers PTSD and has admitted that he cannot give up being Iron Man. As long as he perceives a threat, he won't be able to turn his back on heroism, which will ultimately destroy him.

Tony has already shown he was willing to sacrifice himself for the Greater Good - in both The Avengers and Infinity War - and it would make a lot of sense for him to do so. Particularly when we know Robert Downey Jr is probably on his way out of the MCU.

So what if the rumour that each of the victims of the snap will be trapped for lives of survivors to appease the Soul Stone? What if Tony gives up his own life to allow his surrogate son Peter Parker to live? That would be one hell of an emotional end to his story.
