10 Trash Horror Movies With 1 Amazing Kill

1. The Strangers: Prey At Night - Uncle Marv

Jaws: The Revenge Banana Boat
Aviron Pictures

To label The Strangers: Prey at Night as absolute trash may be a tad harsh, but it is fair to say that this sequel left many a fan of Bryan Bertino's The Strangers cold and unimpressed.

Part of the reason for the disappointment in Prey at Night can be attributed to the fact that it took a full ten years for the film to arrive. Another reason for said disappointment can be put down to writer/director Bertino departing the project after it spent so long spinning its wheels. And one other explanation for the poor response to this second Strangers offering is, to be blunt, it falls massively short of getting anywhere even close to the standards of its predecessor.

One huge highlight of Prey at Night, though, is the follow-up's opening sequence. With Man in the Mask, Pin-Up Girl and Dollface once again on a random rampage of bloodshed and murder, the action this time is relocated to a trailer park.

The opening minutes here have Dollface knock on a trailer door, kill the woman who answers, and then casually, chillingly make her way into the dead lady's dead. There, the deceased's oblivious husband has what he presumes to be his wife snuggle up in bed behind him.

The death of this character - later revealed to be a relative of the family who end up tormented by these killers across Prey at Night - isn't shown on-screen, but what makes this scene so memorable is just how downright sinister and unsettling it is to have Dollface cosy up into the fella's marital bed.
