The Phoenix Incident is based on the Phoenix Lights, a phenomenon that occurred in - you guessed it - Phoenix, Arizona and the surrounding area in 1997. The lights have been spotted since, but the first event is the most infamous, seeing a group of "otherworldly" illuminations appear in the sky as undeniable UFOs. Whilst the U has been tentatively debunked in claiming the lights were from aeroplanes and slow-burn flares, the Phoenix Incident has a wholly different take on the still-debated matter.

The simplest way to put it is that meme of Ancient Aliens' own Giorgio A. Tsoukalos: "aliens." That's it, that's the entry.

The Phoenix Incident suggests the lights were a result of alien intervention and details an aggressive invasion that takes place behind the scenes, using found footage to tell an entirely different story than just a few flickers in the sky.

Yes, this one is more a fictional 'what if' scenario than most on this list, but still - who's to say the lights aren't actually alien in nature after all? It's as good a suggestion as any, and what most believe in the years since anyway, even if the definitive proof is impossible to ascertain.
