10 Truly Awful Movies That Made Obscene Amounts Of Money

6. Big Momma's House 2 (2006)

Budget: $40m Total Box Office: $138.3m US Home Video Sales: $21.4m The middle movie of the Big Momma's House trilogy (yes, that is actually a thing) saw Martin Lawrence get back in the fat suit as undercover FBI agent Malcolm Turner, in a comedy so bad that it makes the original installment look like a work of genius. Proving that Eddie Murphy isn't the only comedian-turned-actor who can make bad movies under a mountain of prosthetics, the sequel is an unrelenting barrage of poor physical comedy, predictable plot points and tired excuses for humor. Despite overwhelmingly negative critical reaction, a Razzie nomination for Worst Prequel or Sequel and an unwanted reputation as one of the worst sequels ever made, the movie became the fourth biggest hit of Martin Lawrence's entire career. Unsurprisingly, the top three is made up of two Bad Boys movies and the original Big Momma's House. Big Momma's House 2 took the top spot at the US box office when it was released, earning $27.7m. Surprisingly, the movie's grosses were almost evenly split between the domestic and international markets. It also sold over 1.3m copies on DVD in the States, ultimately earning almost four times the production budget, an admittedly impressive feat for such a poor attempt at comedy.

I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
