10 Typecast Actors Who Will Always Be "That Guy/Girl"

1. Zooey Deschanel - The Quirky Girl

Zooey Deschanel Zooey Deschanel, despite her many charms, pretty much only has one setting: she's what you might whimsically call a flibbertigibbet, a wide-eyed, impossibly earnest ray of sunshine. And while that's, you know, cute and everything, we do occasionally wonder if she's capable of doing anything else. As it turns out: nope. It's just 100% quirky dancing and ukulele playing, day in and day out. It's not that we mind, not really. After all, the world needs at least a few actors who are basically the living embodiment of a Disney princess to balance out all the industry curmudgeons like Clint Eastwood and Christian Bale. There are worse things to have than a perpetually sunny disposition and impossibly adorable dresses, like, all the time. That said, she's certainly doubled down on her image as a manic pixie dream girl, and it's very difficult to imagine her stepping too far out of that box. Anne Hathaway was another actress who occupied that same doe-eyed space, but then she made movies like Rachel Getting Married and Les Miserables, in a career move that Zooey seems either incapable or uninterested in replicating.
