10 Unbearably Awkward Movie Posters

3. 'The Rules Of Attraction' Puts Teddy Bears In The Position

The Rules Of Attraction A great poster for sure, though also one that I can't stand to stare at for more than a few seconds for fear that my inner child might disappear entirely. The poster for Roger Avary's underrated black comedy The Rules of Attraction conveys its themes - um, theme - of sex in an unconventional manner, through the medium of various teddy bears and stuffed animals placed in a variety of provocative positions. It's a daring move, given that plastering the faces of James Van Der Beek, Jessica Biel, Kate Bosworth would have been far safer where box office dollars are concerned, though naturally, this attracted its fair share of concern from parents. After all, is a poster in your local multiplex featuring stuffed animals not going to have legions of children running over to it? The result? Disturbed parents having to rustle up a half-baked excuse as to what really is taking place on the poster, and why their kids can't go see it when it's released.
