Rogue Nation saw itself having to share once again as it featured a moment that was also prominently featured in Jurassic World, another 2015 blockbuster, though with decidedly mixed results for the dino-centric hit. Both films have their female protagonists wear high heels in crucial set-pieces but Jurassic World's handling of this unique aspect was widely criticized compared to Rogue Nation's more realistic handling of wearing heels during action sequences.

Rogue Nation's Ilsa Faust and Ethan Hunt are fleeing the opera house following Hunt's prevention of the Austrian Chancellor's assassination and in the process, Faust takes off her heels for better mobility and this was repeated in Fallout during the rescue of the White Widow from John Lark's would-be assassins. On the other end of the spectrum, Jurassic World prominently features its female protagonist running from a T-Rex in heels, a scene that was regarded as highly improbable given the circumstances.

The Rogue Nation marketing team even contemplated including a dig at their blockbuster rival in the film's promotional circuit but Cruise and director Christopher McQuarrie opted against it, seeing it as ''not having to twist the knife.''
