Mission Impossible Tom Cruise

As earlier mentioned, Mission Impossible 2 is commonly regarded as the worst entry in the spy franchise and a disappointing showcase for acclaimed Hong King auteur, John Woo. It is a film devoid of irony, excessively flashy, and has a plot that is extremely simple and lacking in intrigue, a reaction to criticisms that the first Mission Impossible movie was too consulted for its own good.

The simplistic nature of the plot may have boiled down to the fact that John Woo's first version of the film was three and a half hours long, compared to the theatrical version's two-hour running time.

However, studio executives naturally turned down this cut in favour of more a theater-friendly version. This forced Woo to trim down nearly half the length from his movie and this is frequently cited as the reason why the film has a fair number of plot holes and mistakes compared to its franchise counterparts.

One can only wonder if the ''Woo Cut'' was a top-tier quality film that justified its length or the excessive run-time would have doubled down on the final cut's flaws
