10 Under-Rated Sci-Fi Movies You Need To Love

8. Galaxy Quest

Galaxy Quest 2 Hey, who says science fiction can't be funny? What's awesome about Galaxy Quest is that not only does it succeed as a parody film, but overall it's really well made and written earning a 89% "certified fresh" score on Rotten Tomatoes. It's not too hard to see why either. The cast was fantastic, placing Sigourney Weaver as a blonde in a role you wouldn't expect from her. The film also features Alan Rickman as a completely cynical, burnt out version of Spock and Sam Rockwell as the "expendable crewman" who is paranoid he will die throughout the movie. Like the real cast of Star Trek the film begins with them attending their millionth convention, honoring a TV show they made some years back. Then some Vulcan-like aliens show up asking for their help to save their people from some Klingon/Borg-like invaders. They agree thinking it's some sort of fan hoax and wind up living their TV show for real. All around just an enjoyable movie to watch.
