10 Underappreciated Movies That Should Have Inspired Franchises

9. The Adventures of Bob and Doug McKenzie: Strange Brew (1983)

strange brew Yes, this movie is Canadian. Starring Rick Moranis and Dave Thomas, hot off success in Second City Television, made a film adaption for two characters they invented for the show. Bob and Doug McKenzie, as stereotypically Canadian as one can be. The film follows their attempts to get free beer, which eventually takes them to the brewery itself. Upon arriving, they get caught in the middle of the Brewmeister's plot... to take over the world by placing mind-control drugs in the beer. Naturally, it falls upon the shoulders of Bob and Doug to save the world. Do I really need to explain what would make this an awesome franchise?
