10 Underrated Action Movies That Didn't Deserve To Bomb At The Box Office

One of the many, many comic book adaptations that fell through the cracks as the genre came dangerously close to reaching saturation point at the turn of the 2010s, The Losers came and went with barely anyone even noticing, as the $25m ensemble actioner failed to even reach $30m in box office takings.

The screenplay hailed from the unusual duo of Zodiac writer James Vanderbilt and Lone Survivor director Peter Berg, so it comes as little surprise that the movie ended up being all over the place tonally. However, the action scenes are competently and stylishly put together, and while the narrative hardly breaks any new ground the effortless charisma of the cast compensate for a lot of these shortcomings.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Idris Elba, Zoe Saldana and Chris Evans are unsurprisingly adept at playing cool people doing cool things, and while it failed to make any sort of an impression with audiences, no less an authority than Quentin Tarantino summed it up when he said he enjoyed The Losers as 'dumb fun'.

I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
