10 Underrated Horror Movie Parodies

7. Monster in the Closet

Student Bodies
Troma

Monster in the Closet may not be the best film on this list, but it does have one of the most notable alumni.

A goofy, likeable teen horror spoof from 1986, this one featured the film debut of one Paul Walker as a gadget obsessed whiz kid who helps ensnare the titular monster.

Released by cult heroes Troma Entertainment, this silly and light-hearted film sees Walker's kid genius and a crew of assorted oddballs attempting to take down the classic creature feature-style monster plaguing their apartment building and later the entire city. In classic spoof fashion, the jokes come fast and thick, if not necessarily flawlessly written.

This one definitely subscribes to the "they're not all good, but there's plenty of them" school of comedy, and it makes for an agreeably silly and charming viewing experience particularly for fans of monster movies who have always wanted some fun poked at their preferred horror sub genre.
