10 Underrated Star Wars Legends Characters That Deserve A Second Chance
1. Abeloth
Taking us into the more mystical parts of the Star Wars Universe, Abeloth was once a human woman that acted as ‘The Mother’ to The Ones, who originally appeared in The Mortis arc in The Clone Wars. However, Abeloth made her debut in the 2009 novel Fate of the Jedi: Outcast by Aaron Allstone. After drinking from the well of power and she became what is comparable to an Eldritch being - a creature so powerful it took the combined efforts of Luke Skywalker and Darth Krayt to banish her.
Utilising Abeloth in a way that would do the story justice would be difficult, as her character is so immensely powerful it would be difficult to find her a worthy challenge. She is probably too deep into the lore to make an appearance in any sort of main line film, but potentially one character who could encounter her in some form is Ahsoka Tano.
Ahsoka already has deep connections to the weirder parts of Star Wars. Furthermore, she has already faced off against Maul, Inquisitors, Darth Vader and the Emperor in the span of one day. She is certainly qualified. The last we saw of her she had become this sagely figure clad in white. If Abeloth is treated as an otherworldly threat that needs to be banished rather than fought in physical terms, her character could still make a return.
Abeloth would certainly be the biggest threat faced by any Star Wars character in the new canon and open doors to stranger parts of the mythos.
