10 Unforgettably Grisly Film Scenes In Which Characters Lost Limbs Or Appendages

1. The Black Knight (Monty Python & The Holy Grail)

rsz_holygrail017 In Monty Python and the Holy Grail, the movie's early scenes see King Arthur - along with his squire, Patsy - recruiting his Knights of the Round Table by travelling the land looking only for the bravest, strongest Knights. On his travels, he witnesses a Black Knight winning a duel with another Knight and, impressed by his abilities in battle, he offers him a place in his court at Camelot. The Black Knight dismisses the idea with his silence and King Arthur attempts to continue his recruitment drive elsewhere. However, the Black Knight tells King Arthur that "none shall pass" and stands in his way. King Arthur, not wanting any trouble, politely asks that he is allowed to continue on with his journey, but the Black Knight refuses and the two duel with their swords. In one of cinema's funniest ever scenes, King Arthur first takes off the Knight's left arm, which he dismisses as a scratch and fights on. King Arthur then takes off his right arm, which he dismisses as a flesh wound, and they fight some more. King Arthur then proceeds to slice off both of the Black Knight's legs and heads onwards with his quest, while the Black Knight tells him to come back so he can "bite his legs off".
