10 Unintentionally Funny Moments From Batman V Superman

Let this be a lesson to all aspiring filmmakers: if you build a tense scene around urine, you may get a few more giggles than you would have liked.

Superman is brought before a committee headed by Senator Finch (Holly Hunter) to answer for his... rescues? For whatever reason, the committee is about to begin when Finch spots a suspicious jar sitting in front of her labeled as lemonade. It's a callback to a not very memorable line she said to Lex Luthor about disguising urine as lemonade. Finch stares the jar in terror, knowing she has been duped by Luthor, and then a bomb goes off, killing everyone in the room.

Why did they choose a jar of urine to convey this? It made the whole scene impossible to take seriously and it's dragged out so unnecessarily long that you have a good while to really let the ridiculousness wash over you. It feels like the stare-down between Finch and that jar lasts for ages. 

And why was she so freaked out by it? Why did she immediately know that meant Luthor was evil? If I had that lemonade-urine conversation with someone then saw a jar of urine on my desk, I'd say, "Ew, what a gross joke", throw it out and carry on with my day.
