10 Unintentionally Hilarious Horror Movie Monsters
5. The Creature - The Evil Of Frankenstein (1964)
You would think that a horror icon as universally praised as Frankenstein's Monster would never come across as unintentionally funny. But, damn, just like Godzilla, some poor visual effects can really bring a legend down.
The Evil of Frankenstein is a classic Hammer horror movie and was the first time the studio collaborated with Universal Studios. As such, there was a lot of excitement over the creature's design. Sadly, this movie's version of Mary Shelley's creation is one of the worst ever put to the screen.
Just look at that face. Even for a film as old as this one, it looks abysmal. Hammer horror may be known for its cheap productions, but this paper-mâché mask and rough makeup look worse than an amateur theatre production.
Plus, his forehead is so square he looks like a Minecraft character. Sure, a swift headbutt from that thing would knock you off your feet in theory, but, in reality, you'd likely break through the cheap mask material without breaking a sweat.
It's impossible not to chuckle when watching this "monster" fill the screen.
