9. Al Pacino - Han Solo (Star Wars)
We're all aware that Harrison Ford's most iconic role almost went to Tom Selleck (I even mentioned it in the intro!), but his
other iconic character was almost assumed by a whole host of other actors, too, including Kurt Russell and Nick Nolte, and just about everybody was doing "good acting" in the mid-'70s. Though we can certainly imagine Russell and Nolte inhabiting the part of intergalactic space pirate Han Solo with the right amount of bravado (especially Russell), there's one actor that we most definitely can't: Al Pacino, who was also considered for the role. For one, Pacino doesn't possess much of the comic goofiness that Solo has in spades, nor does he feel "right" with the
Star Wars universe. Worst of all, despite the fact that it hadn't even been made yet, I can't help but imagine him doing Han Solo in Tony Montata's accent. Which is weird, to say the least.
