6. Lotney "Sloth" Fratelli & Lawrence "Chunk" Cohen (The Goonies)
Sloth is the forsaken and deformed member of the Fratellis a criminal gang and Chunk is the plump, exaggerating, clumsy member of the titular group in The Goonies. Shunned by his Mother, Ma Fratelli, and his brothers, Francis and Jake, Sloth is chained to the walls beneath an abandoned restaurant in Astoria, Oregon. Chunk finds himself placed in the same room as Sloth when the rest of his group come in to a spot of bother with the Fratellis. The unlikely pairing would then set out on adventure, following the footsteps of the other Goonies and Fratellis, who were both vying for the same treasure. In the final, action-packed scenes, it is Sloth who emerges as the movie's hero. Wearing his Superman T-shirt and a pirate hat, he saves the Goonies from the rest of his family aboard One-Eye Willie's galleon attacking his brothers, throwing his Mother in to the sea and using his inhuman strength to lift a boulder to allow the Goonies to escape. Following on from this, they become very close friends (indeed, they declare their love for each other) and Chunk invites Sloth to live with him and his family to start a new life.
