10 Unluckiest MCU Characters
9. Rhodey
Colonel James Rhodes has been around in the MCU since the very beginning, even if his first appearance was played by somebody else, and in that time fans have gotten to know him relatively well.
He rose through the ranks of the US military, became very good friends with Tony Stark, and was eventually welcomed into the Avengers as one of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. In a roundabout way, he has the ability to fly, and for the first eight years of his tenure in the franchise, no one could specifically call him particularly unlucky.
That is until Captain America: Civil War when his life would change forever. As part of the whole battle between heroes in Germany, Rhodey found himself chasing Falcon higher and higher into the air, until a misguided laser beam from Vision knocked his arc reactor out, leaving him dead in the air.
After plummeting to the ground, his survival was a miracle, though not without a spine injury and paralysis in his legs, but the fact that Vision missed when he shouldn’t have even been able to, and the fact that it just so happened to hit the exact spot that would send all of his technology dead in an instant make him incredibly unlucky.
