10 Unluckiest MCU Characters

8. Nebula

Jeremy Renner Hawkeye
Marvel Studios

Just imagine being Nebula. There is no physical way you can think about her without feeling sorry for her thanks to a literal lifetime of verbal and physical abuse from her father. Even after everything, all she wanted to do was to make him proud. He truly messed her up and ruined her life.

Though Infinity War showed the moment Thanos chose Gamora to take under his wing, Nebula’s adoption was omitted. Chances are however, that he could have chosen anyone he wanted, but picked Nebula for a life of consistently not being good enough.

Not only was she unlucky enough to be adopted by Thanos, she was unlucky enough to have an older sister in Gamora who was happy to kick her ass every time they fought, and watch silently as their father replaced another part of her with machinery.

Nebula’s life must have been agony, and even after Thanos was killed and she became a genuine superhero, those scars left would never heal. She has come a long way since her villainy in Guardians of the Galaxy, but she will never be without that trauma.
