10 Unlucky Movie Characters Who Didn't Deserve To Die

2. Jaws The Revenge - Mrs. Ferguson

Jaws: The Revenge - taking the Michael

For a film about a murdering shark on a revenge rampage, the body count is surprisingly low.

Very surprising in fact. Two deaths! The first is Sean Brody at the beginning, and the other occurs after the second act when Michael’s daughter is having the time of her life on a Banana Boat.

The shark on a vendetta sets its sights on Thea Brody, but because she’s being held on the boat by an adult, little Thea escapes the bite of the shark and instead Mrs. Ferguson ends up being dinner for the day.

Now shark attacks, especially in the Jaws franchise have always been random. But in this fourth instalment it’s hinted strongly that the shark has a vendetta against the Brody Family.

This in a way should mean that everyone who doesn’t come from Roy Scheider or Lorraine Gray are safe, right?

So imagine the hard luck that just because you were in close proximity to a Brody, you were the one gobbled up instead.

For a shark on a revenge mission, it's a pretty shoddy effort when it only knocked off one member of the Brody clan before being hilariously blown up.

I overthink a lot of things. Will talk about pretty much anything for a great length of time. I'm obsessed with General Slocum from the 2002 Spider-Man film. I have questions that were never answered in that entire trilogy!
