Id never rule anything out, but Ive no plans at this point. That was Joss Whedon's response to being asked about a potential Buffy reunion film. Rats. He'd already kicked off in 2010 when it looked like Warner Bros might be exercising their right to reboot the Vampire Slayer in movie form themselves, with an all-new cast and continuity. That would've been pretty bad. People forget, but Buffy and to a degree, Whedon's career originally kicked off with a movie where she was a Clueless-esque Valley Girl not played by Sarah Michelle Gellar, and Donald Sutherland was her Watcher in LA. The TV show was a spin-off from that, although nobody could quite decide on how canonical the movie was. As late as 1998, it was reported Whedon was working on a new Buffy movie (along with a lot of other, mostly terrible-sounding vampire-related films), this time connected to the TV series and maybe also the nineties film? Who knows. Either way, more of Sunnydale, the Scooby Gang and the Summers clan wouldn't go amiss. And who knows? Now he's off the Marvel treadmill, Sarah Michelle Gellar's not got anything going on and Anthony Stewart Head's been reduced to cameos in Inbetweeners movies, it's about time this project got un-unmade...
