10. Ghostbusters II (1989)

Ghostbusters II was released in 1989 after pressure from Columbia Pictures to capitalise on the success of the first film. Many of the main cast, including Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis, were not interested in making a sequel as they had agreed that the original movie was conclusive to the story. However, eventually everybody was back on board for Ghostbusters II. This was a success in itself, as rarely an entire cast will return for the second instalment (unless it's the continuation of the original story, of course). Despite initially being a success at the box office, grossing $215.3 million worldwide, the film has not aged well because the cast didn't seem interested in trying anything new or really putting that much effort into it. It just felt like a really lazy effort to make some more money, probably because that's exactly what it was. That doesn't mean that it was an awful movie, though. The comedy was still there and so was the silliness. But it just wasn't needed. With constant discussion about Ghostbusters III, which I imagine will get made eventually, a lot of evaluation of where they went wrong with the second instalment is needed before they start filming. Maybe after over two decades away from the screen, there might be a new story to tell.
