8. Gone Girl
As you may have heard (and even decried), Ben Affleck will soon be back in the kind of tent pole territory he has steered away from for years when he takes on the daunting task of filling Christian Bales cape as Batman. Recently, Affleck has mostly busied himself in more mature dramatic roles and films, but Dawn of Justice will represent a return to the blockbuster business. First, however, there is the small matter of David Finchers Gone Girl, set for release in a few weeks time. Gone Girl is based on a novel of the same name, and sees Affleck play Nick Dunne, a man who falls under suspicion when his wife, Amy, disappears in mysterious circumstances. The likes of The Da Vinci Code and Life of Pi did well for themselves in recent years, but they were very different beasts to Gone Girl. This one would need everyone who even thought about reading the book to go see it and drag people along with them in order to worry Star-Lord and pals.
