10 Upcoming 2014 Films That Could Beat Guardians Of The Galaxy At The Box Office
7. Exodus: Gods And Kings
Ridley Scott knows a thing or two about the business end of Hollywood: his films dont always hit, but the acclaimed director of Alien and Blade Runner has stayed in the game and steered films like American Gangster and Prometheus to enviable sums. More importantly, he masterminded the triumph that was Gladiator in 2000, and hes about to venture back into similar terrain. Exodus: Gods and Kings will tell the tale of Moses and his attempts to lead the Israelite slaves out of Egypt, and stars Christian Bale as Moses, as well as featuring Aaron Paul, Sigourney Weaver and Joel Edgerton. Scott can do scale like few others, and Exodus will be a full-on Biblical assault, with set pieces and plagues aplenty. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W2WtXIR9q0E Why the Guardians should be worried: Exodus: Gods and Kings is a little hard to get a read on in terms of box office, and it wouldnt be a colossal shock if it were to struggle to make substantial gains on what must be a mammoth budget. That being said, Ridley reinvented the swords-and-sandals genre with Gladiator, and his old pal Russell Crowe struck it big with Noah earlier this year. Exodus has a one-week jump on the final Hobbit movie in the States, so the potential for success is certainly there, God willing.
I watch movies and I watch sport. I also watch movies about sport, and if there were a sport about movies I'd watch that too. The internet was the closest thing I could find.
