"You know what that needs? More." said no-one, nowhere after watching Toy Story 3. The threequel ended the trilogy and closed up the character's arcs, but that hasn't stopped Woody, Buzz and the gang from popping up again and again. First came a run of increasingly uncreative shorts that tended to be a collection of themed puns (Small Fry, which sees Buzz trapped in a fast food restaurant, is basically a roll call of Happy Meal toy jokes). Now those have dried up the series has set its eyes on the small screen. Last year we got Toy Story Of Terror, a slightly Halloween-themed episode that retrod the evil toy collector element of Toy Story 2 and added little else. We'd like to move on from that and hope Toy Story That Time Forgot (good grief these titles are bad) brings something new to proceedings, but we're not holding out hope. Information is thin on the ground at the moment (the twenty minute special will arrive at Christmas), but we know it features new Battlesaurs toys and will give Kristen Bell's Trixie a bigger role. Naturally the animation in all these has been good and it's impressive the likes of Tom Hanks are still returning to voice the characters, but they're just not up to the quality of the trilogy proper. If you leave one series alone Pixar, make it this one.
