The Babadook - apart from being one of the best horror films of the decade - introduced audiences to Jennifer Kent who, at the time of writing, is currently working on The Nightingale, set to be released later this year.

While her involvement in both Nightingale and the upcoming adaptation of Alice + Freda Forever might destroy any chance of the director getting involved in DC anytime soon, Kent was in talks to direct Wonder Woman originally. With that in mind, there's every chance that the director could get involved with the DCEU at some point, especially if there's a project out there more befitting of the skills she showed in the Babadook.

One such hero that is begging for a unique and altogether more different kind of feature is Batman, who'll receive a solo flick in 2019 courtesy of Apes alum, Matt Reeves. While Reeves is a stellar pick for the project, and will no doubt produce a brilliant Bat-flick with Bat-fleck, one can't help but wonder what a Kent-directed Dark Knight would look like.

Certainly, if there are any sequels in mind (and there will be, let's face it) she has to be considered. A horror-themed romp through Arkham Asylum would be amazing to see on the big screen, and with some key Baba-esque visuals deployed, it would be a terrifying one too.
