10 Upcoming Horror Movies Facing ONE Big Problem
6. James Wan Isn't Directing (AGAIN) - The Conjuring: Last Rites
It's largely accepted by fans of The Conjuring movies that the third film, The Devil Made Me Do It, was by far the weakest of the original trilogy, an issue generally ascribed to original director James Wan's limited involvement, as he received only a "Story by" credit.
Sadly, the very same is true of what's said to be the final entry into the mainline Conjuring franchise, The Conjuring: Last Rites, with Wan again only taking a story credit while directing duties will once more be undertaken by Michael Chaves.
Given that Chaves not only delivered the disappointing third Conjuring film but also helmed two other underwhelming spin-off entries in the Conjuring Universe - The Curse of La Llorona and The Nun II - it's impossible to expect anything but mediocrity from this one.
Even though Wan's a busy man, bringing him back to give the Warrens a proper send-off would've been the smart play here.
