10 Upcoming Horror Sequels NOBODY Expected
5. Trash's Revenge
1985's legendary cult classic The Return of the Living Dead has spawned four sequels to date, all of which have been largely panned by both critics and fans of the original. But in addition to a franchise reboot recently being announced, Linnea Quigley - who unforgettably played Trash in the original film - confirmed last year that a direct sequel to the original was also being developed, called Trash’s Revenge.
Even though Trash died in Return of the Living Dead, this four-decades-later sequel will inexplicably resurrect her for a sequel that, according to the film's crowdfunding page, will also contain meta elements in which Quigley portrays a not-so-fictionalised version of herself.
It was later confirmed that Quigley will be joined by original co-stars Beverly Randolph, Thom Mathews, Miguel Nunez, and John Philbin, and somewhat contentiously, late actors James Karen and Don Calfa will be included in the film with the help of CGI tech.
It's certainly not a sequel anyone expected to see so long after the fact, though given that the crowdfunding drive has gotten off to a slow start, it remains to be seen if Trash's Revenge will ever actually see the light of day.
