2. Scary Movie 5
Scary Movie 5 is specially distinguished for possibly being the first movie in cinematic history that is at the same time a franchise sequel and a reboot; quite how that works I'm not sure yet. Given the free-wheeling nature of these films - which hold plot integrity in as low regard as possible - it gives the producers ample opportunity to market the film as a sequel while essentially retooling it for a new generation of cinemagoers. Cindy Campbell (Anna Faris) and Brenda Meeks (Regina Hall) are nowhere to be found in the latest film, with Ashley Tisdale being cast as the new lead, presumably to essentially take over the Cindy role and guide us through all the idiocy. To make things more confusing, several cast members from the previous films such as Charlie Sheen and Molly Shannon appear once again, but as different characters. Anyone who's seen the trailer knows that whether you think of it as a sequel or a reboot, this is one film that is absolutely, positively going to flop upon release. Dreadful.
