10 Upcoming Movie Remakes That Must Be Stopped

8. The Raid: Redemption

The notion of remaking The Raid is a truly idiotic one. Like, seriously. Think about it: The Raid is primarily a movie consisting of action sequences without much talking in them. There isn't, all considered, much dialogue to speak of across the span of the whole movie. The fact that an American remake is in the works is beyond bizarre, then, especially since the two most important elements from the original Indonesian action movie will be sorely missing: that being actor/martial artist Iko Uwais and director Gareth Evans. What's the point of The Raid without these guys being involved? Essentially, you're just going to wind up with something that resembles the genius of the original picture in almost zero ways. In a brilliant twist of fate, however, Taylor Kitsch - who was set to star - just dropped out, which means that the film has been sent back to the drawing board. That doesn't meant that it's cancelled, sadly; XYZ Films is still vying to get the project made. It's enough to make you wish that Donald Sutherland had starred in the first movie so that he could slag off the idea of a remake to the press.
