10 Upcoming Movie Trailers That Are Probably Tricking You

1. Only The First Act Is Silent - A Quiet Place

A Quiet Place Emily Blunt
Paramount

The trailers for John Krasinski and Emily Blunt's new horror film have done a fantastic job of selling the film's premise, that a family must keep quiet and communicate only by sign language in order to avoid supernatural forces who hunt by sound.

While it would be fantastic if this premise sustained for the entire movie, it's far more likely in a studio genre film, especially one coming from Paramount, that this will only comprise the film's first 30-40 minutes, after which all hell will break loose and the jig will be up.

The prospect of there being no spoken dialogue throughout the whole film seems extremely optimistic for a horror movie starring name actors. It's a neat hook to reel in the art-house crowd as well as genre fans, but once you're settled, the gimmick will probably, sadly be dispensed with.
