10 Upcoming Movie Trailers That Are Probably Tricking You

7. It's Less Action-Packed Than It Looks - Annihilation

The most recent trailer for Alex Garland's (Ex Machina) upcoming sc-fi thriller Annihilation quite obviously plays-up the film's action and more conventional monster movie elements, in stark contrast to the restrained, atmospheric and ambiguous first trailer.

It's already well-known that Paramount is struggling to market the movie after underwhelming test screenings suggested it wouldn't land with more casual audiences, and so their attempt to paint the film as more action-packed and formulaic seems totally transparent.

If you're going in to see Natalie Portman firing guns and fighting off CGI alien monsters, you'll probably be left fuming at just how little of that there really is in the movie.
