10 Upcoming Movie Trailers You Must See Right Now

4. Gone Girl

The trailer for David Fincher's previous movie, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, was a sort of masterpiece in of itself - and if you haven't seen the similarly genius first trailer for Gone Girl, based on the bestselling book by Gillian Flynn, you've missed something brilliant. As with The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo's trailer, Gone Girl's sort of works as a short and eerie little film of its own: not much dialogue; mostly deft images backed with music. In this case, the images - classically composed in that dark, clinical Fincher-esque manner - flow beneath a cover of the song "She," made famous by Charles Aznavour and then Elvis Costello (yes, on the soundtrack to Notting Hill, you'll recall). The results are strangely eerie and unnerving, as we begin to ponder what has happened between Ben Affleck and his wife, played by Rosamund Pike, after she disappears without a trace. Creepy stuff. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UTaeg-sGw9k
