10 Upcoming Movie Twists Everyone's (Probably) Already Guessed

7. Hoffman Is Still Alive - Saw XI

The surprisingly solid Saw X concluded with a post-credits scene which showed John Kramer (Tobin Bell) working together with his successor Detective Hoffman (Costas Mandylor).

And while this scene was set early in the Saw chronology as with the rest of the movie, it was the first time we'd seen Hoffman on-screen since his "death" in 2010's Saw 3D: The Final Chapter.

The scene seems to suggest that Hoffman will likely make an appearance in the upcoming Saw XI, which will presumably inch a little further forward in time while still preceding Kramer's death, allowing the great Tobin Bell to appear in the film once again.

But it's also fair to say that Saw needs to be looking towards its future - with Bell turning 82 years old this year, he won't be able to play Kramer forever, and it makes sense to start considering who could take up his mantle as the series' "new" protagonist.

Given that we never saw him die, Hoffman seems like the most probable candidate, and so don't be shocked if Saw XI ends with a credits scene which leaps back to the end of Saw 3D to show how Hoffman escaped being confined in that grotty bathroom, in turn teeing up a present-day sequel where Hoffman continues his "tests."
