10 Upcoming Movies Nobody Asked For

3. The Twisted Childhood Universe

Last year's Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey defied atrocious reviews to generate a solid profit at the box office, enough that Jagged Edge Productions announced not only a sequel, but development of a wider cinematic universe.

The Twisted Childhood Universe - also dubbed "The Poohniverse" - will encompass a glut of horror movies based on legendary childhood characters, including Bambi: The Reckoning, Peter Pan's Neverland Nightmare, and Pinocchio: Unstrung. But even accepting that the recently released Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood & Honey 2 fared far better critically than its predecessor, any residual charm of this whole endeavour is likely to wear off in record time.

Those amused by the novelty of seeing icons from beloved Disney films reimagined as murderous monsters are likely going to lose interest after another movie or two, and so if this planned universe indeed plays out to completion, it's going to end up existing in spite of basically everyone else.

On the plus side, at least the movies are produced cheaply enough that nobody's going to lose a fortune on them. All the same, the filmmakers are taking what was a mildly interesting idea for a single picture and running it into the ground with a franchise nobody wants.
