10 Upcoming Movies That Already Have Your Money
If you're not excited for Toy Story 4, you have no soul.
There are an almost comical amount of movies released each month, so much so that it’s impossible for anyone who isn’t a film critic to catch them all.
Going to the movies can be expensive, and with most summer weekends containing a new blockbuster - as well as smaller movies like Hereditary that may seem more suitable for home viewing - it's all too easy to miss a couple of gems here and there.
But there are some movies that you simply have to see. Avengers: Infinity War is the most recent example, and judging by its record-shattering gross, most of you did indeed go and check it out. These are movies that have you onboard from the get go; from the first trailer, or even the initial concept. It could be a sequel in a proven franchise, something from a respected director, a movie that's likely to be a big awards contender, or a blockbuster that everyone else will be seeing anyway.
Looking ahead, there are a bunch of movies like this on the horizon. You know you'll be giving them your money at some point, so why resist?
10. Creed 2
It's safe to say that the original Creed took most people by surprise. A sort-of sequel in a franchise that was sort-of considered past its prime, the movie was a deserved smash-hit, earning Sly Stallone an Oscar nomination that you'd be justified in saying he should have won.
Creed 2 looks to keep that momentum going, bringing back all the main cast members while adding Dolph Lundgren as Ivan Drago - as well as Drago's son - into the mix. That's a bit like adding the Joker to a Batman sequel; Drago is the most memorable Rocky villain of all time, and this move will only make Creed 2 feel more epic, more unpredictable, and more nostalgia-inducing than the first.
Sadly, Creed director Ryan Coogler won't be at the helm this time, but he has had some input. He's also given his blessing to his successor, Steven Caple Jr, a man named on Forbes' highly-coveted 30 Under 30 list. The guy clearly has talent.
Creed 2 has so much going for it, and it could certainly end up in that rare group of sequels that manage to best the original.
