10 Upcoming Movies That Are Already Doomed

Even though IP is everything in 2025, does a big-budget, live-action He-Man movie really make much sense?

A reported $200 million has been dropped on the currently-shooting Masters of the Universe, which beyond its monstrous budget is making the highly unpopular choice to shift the setting away from He-Man's home planet of Eternia to Earth instead.

Leaked set photos haven't exactly gotten the fanbase enthused either, and then there's the elephant in the room that is Jared Leto's casting as He-Man's archnemesis Skeletor.

Were it not for Travis Knight (Bumblebee) serving as director, there'd be virtually nothing to be optimistic about here.

But even if Masters of the Universe actually somehow turns out well, it's tougher to picture it grossing the $500+ million it'd need to be commercially successful and ensure a sequel.

After all, younger generations have little affinity for He-Man, and nostalgia can only take an IP so far if it isn't actively courting new fans.
