10 Upcoming Movies That Could Beat Avengers: Endgame At The Box Office
7. Toy Story 4
As large scale as Avengers: Endgame is, there is a remote chance that it could be outdone by a group of toys. Toy Story 4 is the last in the series and is a sure bet to make some serious noise in June.
How much noise isn't yet clear, but the upside here has to be taken into consideration. Toy Story 3, what was believed to be the conclusion of the series, grabbed just over a billion dollars in ticket sales and was Pixar's highest grossing product both domestically and internationally.
Toy Story 3 has since been overtaken by The Incredibles 2 worldwide and Finding Dory in North America. Those two sequels may have benefitted from their lengthy hiatuses. Toy Story 4 will be nine years removed from Toy Story 3 and if absence really does make the heart grow fonder it is set up to be Pixar's most financially successful film ever, placing it in the range of The Avengers and Age of Ultron.
If you wanted to make a reasonable assumption and say the box office increase will mirror that of Finding Nemo and Finding Dory, Toy Story 4 will make just over $1.2 billion. However, if you wanted to make a quantum leap and say the increase will be similar to the increase between Toy Story 2 and 3, the fourth installment will gross close to $2.3 billion, beating every movie not named Avatar.
Pixar is behind some of the biggest animated movies of all-time and they seem due for a $2 billion+ monster hit. It very well could arrive when the toys come back in town.
