The Lesson: Freddie Vs Jason Take two iconic characters, successful in their own rights (though to different degrees, admittedly) and smash them together with a entire force of a multi-million dollar film marketing campaign. A recipe for infinite success? Or for disaster. Warner Bros. are clearly hoping that their gamble of going after the big story-line in their second unified universe title will pay dividends, but history has proved that simply clashing two franchises together in such a manner is not an immediate answer to any question. Both Freddy Krueger and Jason Vorhees were iconic, but when they met, the Earth moved at how awful the result was, and sadly that's the overriding suspicion here to. After all it's hard to think of really enduring success when you're contending with unconscious comparisons to films as notable as Mega Shark Vs Giant Octopus.
