10 Upcoming Movies That Have Already Pissed Everyone Off

4. A Rainy Day In New York

Woody Allen is famous for many things - making movies, making movies set in New York City, getting mistaken for Woody Harrelson on occasion, and for marrying and molesting his children. One of those things seems a little more important than the others, doesn't it? Well apparently a lot of people would agree with that as, after renewed visibility from Allen's daughter about the 1992 molestation claims, his latest film A Rainy Day In New York saw issues getting released. After a backlash from people about Amazon producing the movie, the behemoth company attempted to drop it - only to be sued by Allen for $68 million for breach of contract.

Several of the actors within the film also received criticism for working with Woody Allen, given that the news of his history of sexual indiscretion was not really new. In response actors Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Hall, Selena Gomez, and Griffith Newman said they would donate their full salaries from the movie's production to charitable organizations, including Time's Up and RAINN. Several actors who took part in the movie voiced regret at participating or even vowed never to work with Allen, again.

At this point it is only slated to be released in France, Italy, Spain, and Portugal, however other European countries as well locations in Asia, and Central and South America will also apparently get a late 2019 release. Amazon gave distribution rights back to Allen as a result of the lawsuit and he has been working to get new domestic and international distributors for it, since.
