If you check out the comments section of the latest trailer for this movie you will be overwhelmed with one common theme. "I thought this movie got cancelled two years ago, is it still coming out?"

The reason for this train of thought stems from a controversy at the 2017 Cannes Film Festival that showed the main character of Snow White in both a skinny form and a plus-size form with the tag line, "What if Snow White was no longer beautiful and the dwarfs were no longer short?" The backlash from potential fans was so swift the movie's star, Chloe Grace-Moretz went to social media to state she as "appalled and angry" by the ad campaign and that she had no prior knowledge of the campaign's contents.

The movie's plot seems to have changed little, judging by the trailer: An overweight woman steals a witch's magical shoes that turn her into a 'beautiful' skinny version of herself. At the same time said witch turns seven young princes into what the movie calls dwarfs, though several people have pointed out that with their small bodies and green skin they look more like goblins.

Other criticisms aside from the body shaming theme and strange artistic decisions include that the movie appears to just be a rip-off of Shrek and Tangled (including the fact that the witch looks like an aged Mother Goethel). And my personal favorite comment in the history of movie trailer comments: "This looks like an ad for Clash of Clans."
