10 Upcoming Movies That Have Already Pissed Fans Off

When you think about musicals on the stage, there aren't many more popular or iconic than Wicked, essentially a Wizard of Oz prequel focusing on the Wicked Witch of the West's origin story. As with any popular and iconic source of entertainment, it was surely only a matter of time before a movie adaptation was put into production.

Wicked, set to star Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande as Elphaba and Glinda, respectively, will release in 2024. Though at the time there was a large portion of filming and production still to go, director Jon M. Chu took to social media back in April to offer a tease of what was to come.

The two images - one of each main character - highlighted their associated colours. Green for Elphaba, and pink for Glinda. To draw the focus to this even more, anything in the images not of these colours came across as extremely dark. This is where the internet's short-sightedness came in, as some fans were pissed off.

The assumption was that these were stills from the movie, and that the director had taken a wonderfully vibrant production and taken every bit of colour out of it. Even after Chu responded, telling certain individuals directly that this wasn't the case and that these images were a mere first tease, these same fans were still unhappy. Hopefully, the final product will speak for itself.
