1. Jason Momoa - Aquaman
Granted, we'll get our first glimpse of Jason Momoa as Aquaman in the upcoming superhero picture that is Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (if his brief role hasn't been cut, that is), but given that it's likely to only be a small cameo, it'll probably be too early to judge whether the Game of Thrones and Conan the Barbarian actor is right for the part. But movie-goers don't really need to see Momoa in action to work out whether or not he's a good fit for Aquaman, because he isn't. Warner Bros. appear to be modelling their cinematic universe version of Aquaman on Marvel's more aggressively-inclined Namor the Submariner (a character for which he's far better suited), because Jason Momoa doesn't resemble Aquaman in any capacity at all - he just looks like a fishy version of Conan. Not to mention that Momoa isn't much of an actor; he has a tough presence, that's true, but he hasn't proven that he can rest an entire movie on top of those broad shoulders. Warner Bros. are clearly hoping to use Aquaman as the broody and conflicted version of the character glimpsed in the modern comic books, but Momoa's lack of range will most likely ensure that broody is the only thing this Aquaman ends up being. You can't help but wish that somebody with a bit more personality wound up with this role instead. Who, then? Alexander Skarsgard seems like a natural choice for the role; he would be able to bring both Golden Age Aquaman and modern Aquaman together to create a worthy amalgamation of the character - not to mention that he's cool, handsome and, uh, looks good in the water?
