10 Upcoming Movies That Have Just Been Delayed
9. Street Fighter
Video game adaptations have seen something of a boost in recent years, breaking away from the so-called curse that seemingly guaranteed that any and all movies of the genre would be terrible. The success of the Super Mario Bros. Movie alone should at least give gaming fans hope.
In 1994, while the curse was still alive and well, came the Jean-Claude Van Damme-led Street Fighter, a film able to boast just 11% on the Tomatometer. Thankfully, another adaptation is now in the works, in a time when it has a much better chance of being well-received.
Those excited about its release have seen some mixed news recently. Although some big names have now been attached to the film, including Andrew Koji as Ryu, Noah Centino as Ken, as well as WWE's Roman Reigns, and Jason Momoa (hopefully as Blanca), the production has also been delayed.
Not just delayed, but taken off Sony's release schedule altogether. This comes after would-be directors Danny and Michael Philippou left the project to be replaced by Kitao Shakuri. Thanks to the casting announcement and reveal of a new logo, it seems as though production is moving forward, but there is currently no telling as to when it may actually release.
