10 Upcoming Movies That Look Terrible

The fact that all involved with the latest attempt to give everyone's favourite Italian plumber and his pals the big-screen treatment clearly went out of their way to keep a certain element of the incoming animated offering as far away from the spotlight as possible spoke volumes during the first look at The Super Mario Bros. Movie.

Though the rest of the vibrant delights on show did actually hint at the supporting cast definitely bringing their A-game, in particular a riotous Jack Black as Bowser, and some genuinely hilarious beats brought to life through rather impressive animation, anxiety still remained over the Chris Pratt-voiced elephant in the room.

And said anxiousness has only increased after the subsequent official trailer for the Nintendo adaptation, with the leading voice still feeling as though it simply doesn't belong in the body of such an iconic pop culture figure throughout these first glimpses of Pratt's iteration of Mario.

Whether you're a fan of the energy the actor is bringing to this particular star-studded party or are one of the many who feel this jarring portrayal holds the potential to continue to steal headlines for all the wrong reasons, it's safe to say both parties will still likely be lining up to see what the Guardians of the Galaxy star eventually unleashes in the highly-anticipated finished animated article.
