10 Upcoming Movies That Might Already Be Doomed

Gamers are still waiting for the first truly great video game movie to arrive, and it sure doesn't sound like the upcoming Uncharted adaptation will be it.

Even accepting the fact that the film will needlessly focus on a younger Nathan Drake (Tom Holland), there are a number of additional red flags to consider.

For starters, it's being directed by the wildly inconsistent Ruben Fleischer, who hasn't made a good film outside of his two Zombieland flicks.

The script has meanwhile been penned by Art Marcum and Matt Holloway, who while responsible for writing the original Iron Man have written nothing but dreck ever since - Punisher: War Zone, Transformers: The Last Knight, and Men in Black: International. The numbers game isn't on their side here.

Then there's the dubious casting of Mark Wahlberg in the role of Nate's mentor Sully, and perhaps most alarmingly of all, that Tom Holland recently criticised his own performance in the movie, saying that the way he played the character was "a mistake and...something that I will probably never do again."

Though Holland isn't badmouthing the rest of the movie, the fact that he clearly doesn't have much confidence in his own performance - which is arguably more important than any other aspect of the film - could be quite telling.

Either way, keep your expectations basement-low for this one.
