The Elevator Pitch: Joaquin Phoenix leads a four-hour-long "nightmare comedy" from the director of Hereditary and Midsommar.

Ari Aster's terrific 2018 horror flick Hereditary sent him from zero to hero overnight, making any project he's involved in a must-see for film fans.

He followed up Hereditary with 2019's Midsommar, a truly unsettling experience that cemented his position as the most unique horror director in the business, and his off-kilter style looks set to continue with his next effort, Disappointment Blvd.

In June 2020, Aster described his next film as a "four-hour nightmare comedy", which already sounds insane even before you throw his horror credentials into the mix. Add Joaquin Phoenix as the lead - an actor who isn't afraid to dial it up to 11 - and this one's going to be a crazy work of genius... or an over-indulgent misfire.

Either way, it should be very interesting to watch.

He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
