10 Upcoming Movies That Will Change Your Mind About Actors You Hate
10. The Meyerowitz Stories - Adam Sandler
Adam Sandler is like two different actors rolled into one. On one end of the spectrum, he's the guy who made Punch-Drunk Love, Funny People and Reign Over Me - a great dramatic actor capable of the kind of pathos and lop-sided charm only comedians seem to manage. And yet on the other, he's the guy that made Grown Ups 2, You Don't Mess With The Zohan and Jack & Jill.
Unfortunately, box office figures suggest that he's a draw when he's a goofball, which made his deal with Netflix look so good for fans of his dramatic work. Without box office issues, he'd surely be able to make great things again, right? Well, not exactly - we've so far had The Ridiculous Six, The Do-Over and Sandy Wexler, none of which you should rush to watch.
But at least he has The Meyerowitz Stories coming soon for director Noah Baumbach, which has already drawn critical acclaim (specifically for his performance) out of the festival circuit. Hopefully this will be a reminder to everyone just how good he is as a straight actor, and we'll get to see more of it.
